About the Role:
Clear Path Utility Solutions, LLC. (CPUS) is seeking a senior-level VM Qualification Specialist to proctor and administer VM Assessments at the PG&E Qualified Evaluator Yard in Oroville, CA. This role is ideal for experienced professionals in utility vegetation management who are passionate about maintaining high standards and mentoring others in the field.
🌿 Vegetation Management Qualifications Assessor
Key Responsibilities
As a subject matter expert, you will:
- Administer and proctor field and written assessments for vegetation management tasks (e.g., chainsaw use, tree felling, climbing, aerial lift operations).
- Observe and evaluate employee performance to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Mentor employees through the certification process, providing clear guidance and feedback.
- Collaborate with supervisors and managers to identify skill gaps and recommend improvement strategies.
- Maintain accurate certification records and ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Assist in developing and enhancing assessment tools, processes, and training materials.
- Train and mentor new assessors (internal staff and contractors).
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (e.g., skid steer loader, telehandler, excavator) for assessment setup.
- Perform aerial rescues and serve as AED Coordinator as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- 5+ years of experience in the arboriculture industry
- 3+ years in a trainer or safety-related role
- 5+ years performing work relevant to vegetation management assessments
- OSHA 30 Certification
- CPR / First Aid Certification
- Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) or Consulting Utility Forester Safety Professional (CUFSP)
- Electric Hazard Awareness Program (EHAP) Certification
- Certified Arborist or other ISA Credential
Preferred Attributes
- Strong communication and mentoring skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with utility vegetation management standards
- Experience with assessment design and process improvement
